[Help] Old DSC Power 832 randomly going off/need help disarming

I apologize if there is a better place to post this. If there is, tell me and I will crosspost. I am basically ignorant of all things security/electrical, so forgive me if not everything makes sense.

Background

We bought our house a couple years ago with a supposedly dormant security system already installed. We've never used a security system before and our neighborhood is great, so we weren't too keen on using it. So, we left it alone and it left us alone.

Fast forward to yesterday and the alarm starts going off every time we open a door (I didn't even know it was the alarm, I thought it was a weird emergency vehicle). There is successive, high-pitched beeps at the keypad itself and a much larger sound that comes from the attic in the garage.

The sign in the front yard when we bought the house said it was monitored by Monitronics. I saved the number and called it and was redirected to Brinks Home Security. I spoke with a rep there and they have no account associated with my address. I also tried ADT with the same results. Since the alarm has gone off quite a bit and the police haven't shown up, I'm confident when I say I don't think the house is being monitored anymore.

Problem

I have this old DSC Power 832 security system that I do not have the installer code or disarm codes for. It randomly armed itself (or someone in my home was messing with it) and now we cannot turn it off. If it was just the beeping at the panel, it wouldn't be a big deal. The larger alarm going off can be heard down the street, so I'm sure my neighbors on either side of me are not pleased.

I've gone into the attic to inspect the situation and it's rather complicated. The speaker and everything else seem to be hardwired into the home, so it would not be as simple as unplugging it. My temporary solution was to unmount the speaker and put it into a large suitcase with some old towels to dampen the sound.

Information I have

• DSC Power 832 Security panel
• House built in 1998, panel seems old enough to match that
• High-pitched beeping (maybe chime feature) at panels when exterior doors are opened
• Everything is hardwired into the home

Reason for post

I just want this thing to shut up. Short of ripping it all out myself, what are my options? Who should I call? It seems like the home security companies I did call only wanted to help if I was interested in installing a new home security system. Which I'm not.
