New episodes drop weekly after the July premiere

Apple confirmed that the eight-episode season kicks off right in the middle of summer. Fans will not get all the episodes at once. Instead, the company is sticking to its usual weekly release format for the show.

Here is the schedule for the upcoming season:

July 8: Season premiere

August 26: Season finale (weekly episodes)

If you want to watch the new season as it airs, you will need an Apple TV subscription. The service currently costs $12.99 a month. You can also catch up on the first four seasons right now before the new episodes arrive.

The family faces chaos when a biological mother arrives

The story picks up with Nikki and Jason facing a huge surprise. The biological mother of their children suddenly shows up at their front door. Her unexpected arrival completely disrupts the calm, settled life the couple worked so hard to build for Princess and Tyler.

The show has a loyal fan base and holds a 96 percent approval rating from critics. It stands as the longest-running sitcom on the streaming platform. Esther Smith and Rafe Spall both return to play the lead roles, and they also work as executive producers this time around.
