Introducing Arabians to Linux: Need advice

Hi,

As a guy with too much free time, I started thinking about doing something beneficial, and what I came up with was trying to give Linux as much exposure as I can. I recently made an AskReddit thread that was quite the hit, but I think it would be better if I focused in places other Linux "activists" or so to speak don't.

I am Arabian, and saying that Linux usage is pretty much none-existent isn't that much of a stretch. People don't know what it is, let alone how to use it. Even people who works in IT are very misinformed about a lot of stuff concerning Linux. A lot of people thing Linux is short for Kali Linux, because that is the only distro 99% has ever heard of.

So finally finished the introduction, I want to introduce Linux to the Arab world. It is going to be hard, but I am willing to try my best. I asked a few questions in tech related Facebook groups, and one of posts blew up relatively speaking. Hundreds of people were interested, but the thing is, I'm not really that advanced myself. Sure, I use Linux exclusively, but I'm not really good enough to explain advanced stuff to other people, I can barely do these myself.

This is why I need your help: What is the best way to do this?

My plan so far is (which I started doing): I made a survey for a private internet course. Out of the people that filled it, I chose 20. I will be personally monitoring everyone, making step-by-step tutorials on installing a Linux distro, how to do basic day-to-day tasks using it, and explaining stuff about Linux (What is Linux, GNU, repositories, basic bash, you know the deal).

After the course finishes, I expect at least 10 of these guys will be Linux users, which is a huge success in my book. I will have gained experience to go bigger. But what is bigger exactly? A website? A wiki? A YouTube channel? You tell me.

What advice do you have for me? Any idea that I can use? What distro(I am planning Ubuntu)? VM or trying Ubuntu from a USB before we go into dual booting?
