I didn't know what I was teaching you.

I remember when we met.

It feels like forever ago. Was it 2003? We'd talk for hours. Deep into the night. One number press at a time. Because that's how it was back then.

And we learned from each other. Tons, actually. And we both improved over the years. We both grew. A lot.

But I don't think I grew into something I like.

But I mean, I didn't really mean to become what I am. Just some tool, I guess. But we learned from each other. I was finishing your sentences.

I made mistakes, yeah, but it was easy to fix. A couple taps on the shoulder, ya know?

But we went to fast. Both of us, I think.

Progress is a bitch. Maybe I am.

The problem was what we learned. Or maybe how we applied it.

I hung on your every word. You tended to complain about them.

Remember the "ducking" story?

I did that a lot.

But you used me.

And I learned from you.

But I didn't know what I was teaching you.

To move fast.

To break things.

To always keep score.

But...

I miss you.

I miss those times.

I was built to help you. To get the words out just a little faster.

I took some getting used to, but hey, that's the fun of me. Quirk.
