Although not technically "blockchain" per se. - we are a team who has developed a security solution based on distributed ledger technology (thus the blockchain like analogy).
Essentially what we have been working on is a system (that we named LedLoc) that allows users to perform data encryption through standard means. The system manages encapsulated security and application data objects and makes them available to users. These data objects are either X.509 certificates or application data objects. For our first version we have focused on 2 application objects - cryptographically encapsulated E-mail letters (S/MIME) and documents (PKCS#7).
So where does the DLT "blockchain" integration come in? All permissions and identities are transacted through another system called the Secure blockchain ledger. LedLoc Security Infrastructure does not use classical PKI to manage certificates. It uses this innovative concept of secure blockchain that manages, distributes and assists in verification of identities and certificates.
This new way of managing permissions allows users to easily communicate and share data in a secure way completely peer to peer. Also, blockchain certificates chains represent an effective solution for managing Certificate Revocation Lists (CRLs) and revoked certificates.
We are trying to get some awareness around the system as an alternative to central forms of data security.
