Destroying all drives before accessing the deepweb

I recently got interested in the deepweb and thought I would check it out. I know it dangerous so I decided I would use an old laptop and clean the harddrive. I did this using dban's auto nuke and after that I started DoD 5220 .22-M, In the hope that if I would get hacked they won't find anything on my drives. I am planning to access the deepweb through tails OS installed on a USB drive. Is this secure enough? Do I need to use more of dban's functions? What possible risks do I still take if I continue as planned and what can I do about them?
