tvOS 27 Beta Code Hints at Siri AI for Future Apple TV and HomePod Models

Apple’s upcoming Apple TV 4K and HomePod models are expected to get Siri AI support, and new tvOS 27 beta code now adds more weight to those rumors. The latest finding suggests Apple is preparing its home devices for a bigger Apple Intelligence upgrade later this year.



Apple TV and HomePod hardware will launch this fall with Siri AI support, after earlier delays linked to Apple’s slower rollout of its upgraded assistant.



Macworld has now found references inside tvOS 27 beta 2 that point to Apple’s next-generation Siri experience during the HomePod setup process.




“New code associated with the HomePod setup process includes references to Apple’s next-generation Siri experience powered by Apple Intelligence,” Filipe Espósito reported for Macworld.




tvOS 27 points to new home hardware



The current Apple TV and HomePod models do not support Siri AI, which makes these code references more interesting. Apple Intelligence needs stronger on-device processing and more memory, while the current HomePod lineup uses older Apple Watch-based chips and the latest Apple TV 4K runs on the A15 Bionic with 4GB of RAM.



Macworld also found Apple Intelligence frameworks in tvOS 27 beta 1, along with references to Apple’s N1 wireless chip for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Since current Apple TV and HomePod models do not use that chip, the code appears tied to future hardware.



Apple is also rumored to be working on a new smart home device often called “HomePad,” which is expected to combine parts of an iPad, HomePod, and home hub.



For now, tvOS 27 suggests Apple is laying the software groundwork for a new Apple TV, new HomePod models, and a smarter Siri experience across its home platform.
