Alibaba just dropped Qwen 3.8 Max — a 2.4-trillion-parameter model — and in their own words they're calling it the second most powerful AI on the planet, behind only Claude Fable 5. A model most people had barely heard of, ranking itself above GPT-5.6, above Gemini, above every other model out there. So I sat down, read the whole announcement, and here are the five things about it I genuinely can't get over — plus the one honest catch nobody is telling you.
