Display problems

Personally i have gt 640 as graphics card gpu

In Ubuntu 16 + 18 and linux mint I tried all drivers but none of them gives me the option of putting the 1280 x 1024 resolution

and i think because my gpu is too old to run on a modern OS

Should i go to ubuntu 12.04? because ubuntu 12.04 was made in 2012 and my gpu was made in 2012 too

Or there is an other trick to have 1280 x 1024 on modern ubuntu?
