Leaking location with facebook

Recently an aquaintance has told me he was able to identify my location (city) from facebook. Given that I never post personal photo or personal information, I never tag myself in places, I never allow tagging in photo from third persons, and I remove location tags that may appear automatically under my facebook posts, I am very perplexed by this statement. I have checked that indeed the ability of locate my position was abilitated in my app, and I have revoked the permission. I am trying to understand how this person was able to identify my position. I never exchange messages on messenger app, so it should not be accidentaly leaking through there. I have this person as a friend on facebook. I would think there may be a bug of the facebook app, that allows leaking of this private information, or there must be some function, that i am not aware of, that allows sharing position. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks
