Apple Hits 1.5 Billion Subscriptions, But Misses Wall Street Expectations

Apple has reached more than 1.5 billion paid subscriptions across its services platform, marking another major milestone for the company. However, weaker-than-expected Services revenue and cautious guidance left Wall Street looking for faster growth.



Apple generated $30.74 billion from Services during its fiscal third quarter of 2026, representing about 12% annual growth. Analysts had expected approximately $31.4 billion, leaving the division around $660 million below estimates.

Apple’s subscription figure includes paid accounts connected to its own services and third-party subscriptions purchased through the App Store. The expanding base supports recurring revenue from services such as iCloud, Apple Music, Apple TV, AppleCare, advertising, payments and App Store transactions.



The milestone shows that Apple continues to convert its large base of devices into long-term digital revenue. However, investors focused on the slower Services growth rate, which fell from 16.3% in the previous quarter to around 12%. Weakness in App Store gaming reportedly contributed to the slowdown.
