Google Health now shares Fitbit workouts with Apple Health

Apple Health and Google Health can now sync data between them, which means your Fitbit data and other tracked metrics can finally show up in the Health app without needing third-party apps or workarounds.


In May, Google Health launched as a replacement for the Fitbit app, making the fitness brand's hardware operate under the search company's Health arm. Months later, the app has been updated to work a lot better on Apple hardware.

The initial versions of Google Health did work with Apple Health, however, it was a one-way street. The integration meant that Google Health could import data from Apple Health, including recordings from an Apple Watch, but not write to it.
