Ted Lasso Look-Alike Contest Coming to Apple Fifth Avenue

Ted Lasso returns for season 4 this week, and Apple plans to celebrate the premiere with a Ted Lasso look-alike contest at Apple Fifth Avenue in New York City.



The event, called “Gathering of the Teds,” will take place on Thursday, August 6, at 5:00 p.m. in the Apple Fifth Avenue Plaza. It follows the season 4 premiere on Tuesday, August 4, at 9:00 p.m. ET and 6:00 p.m. PT.



Apple has designed the contest around three elimination rounds, with each stage testing how closely participants can match Ted Lasso’s personality, confidence, humour, and positive coaching style.



How the Ted Lasso look-alike contest works



During the first round, called “Ted Energy,” contestants will introduce themselves while staying in character before taking part in a two-minute dance break. Judges will then select the strongest performers for the next stage.



The second round, called “Head Coach,” will include a trivia game and will judge how well each semi-finalist understands and presents the Ted Lasso character.



The final round, called “Ted Talk,” will ask the remaining contestants to deliver a short pep talk to the crowd, giving them one final chance to show their best Ted impression.



The contest offers four prizes worth about $300 in total. Each finalist will receive a custom soccer scarf, while the first-place winner will also receive a pair of custom Beats headphones.
