A vulnerability, which was classified as very critical, has been found in Linux Kernel up to 7.1.1. Affected is the function dw8250_probe of the file drivers/tty/serial/8250/8250_dw.c of the component 8250_dw. Performing a manipulation results in use after free.

This vulnerability is known as CVE-2026-53384. Remote exploitation of the attack is possible. No exploit is available.

It is advisable to upgrade the affected component.
