macOS 27 public beta 3 is now available with new changes

Apple has released macOS 27 Golden Gate public beta 3, giving public beta testers another update ahead of the final release later this year. The new public beta matches the latest developer beta 5 and carries build number 26A5406e.



This release does not introduce any major new features, but Apple has made several visual changes while continuing to fix bugs and improve the overall experience.



How to update



If your Mac is already enrolled in the public beta program, follow these steps:




Open System Settings on your Mac.



Select General.



Click Software Update.



Click the information button next to Beta Updates if the beta is not already enabled.



Select macOS 27 Golden Gate Public Beta.



Click Done, then download and install the available update.




Users who have not joined the public beta program need to enroll their Apple Account in Apple's public beta program before the update appears in Software Update.



All the changes in macOS 27 public beta 3



macOS 27 public beta 3 focuses mainly on interface refinements rather than adding major features. Here are the changes found so far:




Updated Siri icon: Apple has refreshed the Siri icon as part of the latest round of visual changes.



New Safari icon: Safari also gets an updated app icon in this release.



Updated App Store icon: The App Store icon has received another design adjustment.



Activity Monitor icon changes: Apple has refreshed the Activity Monitor icon to better match the current macOS 27 design.



Chess gets a new icon: The built-in Chess app is another app receiving an updated icon.



Consistent window corners: Apple has standardized the corner radius used across apps and windows. Windows now use a more consistent fixed radius instead of changing their corner shape depending on elements in the title bar.



Bug fixes and refinements: The update also continues Apple's work on stability and smaller system improvements as macOS 27 moves closer to its final release.




Apple has not added any other major user-facing features in public beta 3 so far. More minor changes may become apparent as testers spend additional time with the release.
