The idea of turning your smartphone into a computer isn't a new one. The Motorola Atrix Lapdock emerged in the early 2010s. And a decade ago it was a central pillar of the ill-fated Windows 10. More recently, we've had Samsung DeX and even Google's own desktop mode.
But having used Samsung's Fold 8 recently, I think we might have finally hit the sweet spot in terms of *form factor* with that spacious 4:3 inner screen... and capability, with the *new* Samsung DeX in One UI 9.
You could almost imagine it replacing your desktop PC or laptop.
And that's exactly what I've been doing for the past few days to get a feel for packing most of my work life into this tiny little pocketable wonder. Let's take a look at how that went.
