Google Maps for Android Gets Shortcut to View Traffic Data

Google is constantly working on improving user experience in the Maps application and it seems that a new feature has arrived to the app’s Android version. The update is available in the Google Play Store and should arrive to all users in a few days.

The new feature allows users to view real-time traffic information and it’s part of the 9.39 version of Google Maps for Android. Before this update was released, users had to enter a destination or use the Driving Mode in order to get traffic information for their current location.

The new update brings the Traffic Nearby shortcut, which opens with relevant information so that users wouldn’t need to use a certain mode in order to get data on traffic conditions.

The information would make it easier for users to access data instantly before setting out. The feature also shows potential traffic jams and crowded roads.
