Blackmagic version of CentOs is safe?

Hi, I have been using Davinci Resolve Studio 16 in Ubuntu for a while. But , I am interested to move to Blackmagic version of CentOs because it is recommended by them and otherwise they won't give any official support. However, I have heard that system update is not reccomended because they expect you to be working for Hollywood where workstations are secure. And they are also using the old version of Nvidia driver. I am interested to use Linux for my daily OS. So, update and secured OS is important. That's the whole point of using Linux in first place. What is your recommendation? Or opinion in this? Should I go ahead with CentOs (BM version) or use Resolve Studio in Windows just for the sake of official support? Thank you.
