Hello everyone, as a 15-year-old who was born in front of a computer screen I decided it was finally time to set foot in the wonderful world of Linux and explore. But I didn't want to set dual boot or install Linux as the main OS on any of my available devices. So I got my USB, downloaded Linux Mint 19.2 Cinnamon and let BalenaEtcher do the magic.
It boots and I'm very excited. For the first time, I see a terminal right in front of me in all of its glory. But unfortunately, I had to go somewhere so I click the shutdown button and leave it. As I was stepping outside of my room I saw that it didn't shut down. I try moving my mouse but everything was frozen. This happened every time after trying to shut it down or restart it. I once left it for like 5 minutes and it stayed the same.
Sorry if I was a bit too poetic and I hope there is a solution to my problem. I'm fairly new to this and don't know much. Again, I'm booting it from a USB. And this might sound stupid but every change I make in Linux (example changing the theme, connecting to a wifi network, etc.) is just wiped with the next boot.
Linux that I'm using: Linux Mint 19.2 Cinnamon
Laptop: MSI GE62 6QD Apache Pro
Please help me to continue my journey. Thanks anyway!
