Several Amazon Kindle Tablets Receive Firmware 5.12.3 - Update Now

Amazon rolled out a new firmware developed for several of its Kindle devices, namely version 5.12.3, which adds Library Badges (Prime and Kindle Unlimited books are now badged), performance improvements, bug fixes, and other general enhancements.

When it comes to compatible devices, the producer has provided separate downloadable packages targeted at its 8th and 10th generation Kindle units, 8th, 9th, and 10th gen Kindle Oasis tablets, 7th and 10th gen Kindle Paperwhite models, as well as the 7th Generation Kindle Voyage devices.

If you intend to apply this latest update, first of all, know what firmware version is currently running on your Kindle by going to Home > Menu > Settings > Menu > Device Info.

If the device’s current firmware isn’t either newer or matching this update, save downloadable .bin file on your computer, connect your Kindle to it, and transfer the saved package to the root folder of your Kindle’s internal storage.
