Switching my company to linux

I am looking to take my sales floor floor from a windows environment to a Linux environment mainly because of the cost to run windows (cals, windows keys upgrades….) and I just don’t see any point no to switch. All their stuff they do on the computer now is all web based and 99% of what they need to do can be done in google chrome or a chrome type browser.

I have gotten the blessing from management to make the switch with them knowing there is going to be some push back and problems that may popup. With that being said I’m new to Linux I have played around with it over the years but never took the plunge into it like I’m thinking about doing. I want to make it as easy of a transition as possible, so I have been looking into different versions of Linux. I know Ubuntu is probably one of the most popular and Elementary being a fairly striped down version which is appealing to me because they don’t anything but a simple word doc (I will be using google drive for this) and internet. Through some additional research I have found that ChaletOS may be the best os to wing windows end users off windows and bring them to the world of Linux?

Additionally, I’m looking to use samba as my domain controller (we currently do not run a domain at this time) for these computers there will be around 50 computers.

Please share your thought and any input you may have.
