Inner Join is the new MariaDB Foundation series where engineers from the MariaDB core team show the work they are building right now, in their own words.
In this first episode, Oleg Smirnov walks through parallel query execution in MariaDB: why a single query should be able to use more than one CPU core, and what it takes to make InnoDB hand out rows in parallel, the piece that makes the whole feature possible. We talk about how the work is structured, where it is today, and what still has to happen before it lands in a release.
Hosted by Simona, Developer Relations, MariaDB Foundation.
