The Problem: Not All Dead Links Return 404
When a webpage goes down, most developers expect a 404 Not Found response. But many services don't play by those rules.
Soft 404s return 200 OK with error content:
Request: GET https://example.com/deleted-page
Response: 200 OK
Body: <html>...Page not found...</html>
Standard uptime...
