📚 Why aren't there more WebKit browsers on Linux?

So I recently learned that the default gnome web browser actually uses webkit, and I was wondering why this isn't more of a thing on linux? I know a huge portion of the linux community has their heart set on gecko, but I feel like linux users hate the chromium monopoly even more than they love gecko. I'm not a developer so maybe there's a good reason why there aren't many webkit browsers on the market. Any information on this would be appreciated.
