Minimal server distributions that are more...normal.

I'm looking for a server distribution (no GUI) that's somewhere between Debian/Ubuntu and Alpine in terms of disk usage but has a more normal/robust environment than what you get with busybox, et al. It'll be for just some simple lab work I'm doing; I'll need some of the usual suspects like ssh, apache, mysql, php and python. But not much more than that.

Ubuntu minimal server install seemed to land at about 2.5GB. Debian was I think closer to 1.5GB. Alpine is a little less than 200MB which is much closer to what I'd like. But again, I'm hoping to have an environment that looks and smells a little more like Debian/Ubuntu or CentOS/Fedora.

Is there something out there already? Or maybe a way to trim these bigger distros down somewhat?
