Key remapping, idk where to start.

Hello,

i have a modded Chromebook as my Daily, Cheap and 12h Batterylife i love it. but sometimes it drives me nuts, i have the [Powerbutton] above my [Back] Key on i3wm it shutdown my pc instant, and on gnome it going straight to the Login Screen. i need a solution to remap this Key to turn in Action only after a three seconds delay can someone help me out.
