You're running an auth gateway. Every incoming request carries a JWT. Verifying that JWT checking the signature, validating claims, maybe hitting a revocation list costs you 200 microseconds. At 100,000 requests per second, that's 20 full CPU cores doing nothing but crypto. 💸
