Yes, go touch grass - now!

Touching grass is super important for us to unwind and recharge our batteries!

But we tend to not do it often enough, at least I do.

This is why I built touched-grass.com!

It is a fun little website that let's you generate a badge for touching grass activities (and more) to share on social media.

How it started

It started as a joke: I gave out “Touched Grass” badges to random people on X when they actually went outside 🌱

People loved it, so I turned it into a tiny tool!

You can create and share badges for things like:

• touching grass 🌿


• shipping 🚀


• marketing 📣


• hiking 🥾

or basically any activity you want

Each badge comes with a shareable link with a nice social preview, so it looks great on X, Slack, Discord, or anywhere else.

Tech stack

The website is a pretty standard one with NextJS, Prisma(Postgre DB), better-auth, shadcn and tailwindcss.

For images storage Cloudflare R2 and for image creation (opengraph, pinterest pins) Cloudflare worker with screenshotting is used.

Everything (expect Cloudflare obviously) is self hosted on a single node k8s VPS with Github CI pipelines using helm andhelmfile`.
