Apple Releases New iPadOS 26.5 RC With Updated Build Number

Apple has released a new iPadOS 26.5 Release Candidate update for developers and public beta testers. The latest build number is 23F77, replacing last week’s Release Candidate build 23F75. This usually means Apple is fixing last-minute bugs and improving stability before the public rollout expected next week.



The new Release Candidate is now available through the Software Update section on supported iPads enrolled in the beta program. Apple has not shared detailed release notes for the new build yet, but the updated version number suggests small refinements and under-the-hood fixes ahead of the final release.



How to Update



Updating to the latest iPadOS 26.5 Release Candidate is simple:




Open the Settings app



Tap General



Select Software Update



Download and install the latest iPadOS 26.5 RC build




Make sure your iPad is connected to Wi-Fi and has enough battery before starting the update.



What’s New



iPadOS 26.5 mainly focuses on bug fixes, performance improvements, and smaller feature additions instead of major changes. The update includes continued testing for end-to-end encrypted RCS messaging support, new Suggested Places recommendations in Apple Maps, and the new Pride wallpaper introduced during the beta cycle.



Apple is also improving interoperability features for third-party accessories in some regions. The latest RC build appears to focus mostly on stability improvements before the final public release.
