Shrinking Season 4 Adds Karen Gillan to the Cast

Apple TV has officially confirmed that Karen Gillan is joining the cast of Shrinking season 4, adding another familiar face to the comedy-drama’s growing ensemble as production moves forward on the next chapter of the hit series.

Gillan joins a returning cast that already includes Jason Segel, Jessica Williams, Christa Miller, Michael Urie, Lukita Maxwell, and Harrison Ford. Earlier reports raised questions about whether some characters would leave after season 3, but co-creator Bill Lawrence recently confirmed that the full ensemble is returning for the new season.



Karen Gillan is widely known for playing Nebula in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy films, while TV fans still remember her breakout role in Doctor Who. She also appeared in the recent Jumanji movies alongside Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart.



Apple is keeping details about Gillan’s character private for now, so viewers still do not know how she fits into the story. Even so, her addition signals that Shrinking season 4 is preparing to introduce fresh dynamics while continuing the emotional storylines that helped the series build a strong audience.



Season 4 Will Start With a Time Jump



Bill Lawrence previously revealed that Shrinking season 4 will begin after a time jump, which opens the door for major character changes and new relationships. Reports also suggest that the creative team is planning a new three-season arc for the series.



Apple TV is expected to premiere Shrinking season 4 sometime in early-to-mid 2027.
