iOS 27 Beta 1 Released: What’s New and How to Install It

Apple has officially released the first developer beta of iOS 27, giving users an early look at the next major software update for the iPhone. The update arrives shortly after its announcement at WWDC 2026 and introduces a redesigned Siri experience, new Apple Intelligence features, improvements to the Liquid Glass interface, and several app upgrades.

Siri AI Gets a Major Upgrade



The biggest change in iOS 27 is the new Siri AI experience. Siri now offers more natural conversations, improved understanding of requests, and a redesigned interface. Apple has also introduced a dedicated Siri app where users can revisit previous conversations synced through iCloud.



New Apple Intelligence Features



Apple is expanding Apple Intelligence across the system. New AI tools are integrated into apps such as Safari, Messages, Passwords, and Photos. The platform can better understand on-screen content and provide more contextual assistance throughout iOS.



Liquid Glass Gets More Customizable



Apple has refined the Liquid Glass design introduced in the previous version of iOS. Users can now adjust transparency levels using a new opacity slider, making interface elements easier to read while keeping the visual style intact.



Smarter Safari Experience



Safari gains several intelligent features in iOS 27. The browser can automatically organize related tabs into groups and monitor webpages for changes through a new notification system. These additions aim to make browsing more efficient and easier to manage.



Camera and Photos Improvements



The Camera app now includes a Siri-powered mode that can recognize objects through the viewfinder and provide information about them. Photos also receives enhanced AI editing tools, including smarter reframing options and upgrades to the Clean Up feature.



Phone and Passwords Updates



The Phone app introduces Call Context, which can provide helpful information during calls. Meanwhile, the Passwords app can automatically update supported account credentials with a single tap, simplifying account management.
