Eddy Cue Honored at Cannes Lions as 2026 Entertainment Person of the Year

Apple’s Senior Vice President of Services and Health, Eddy Cue, received the 2026 Entertainment Person of the Year award at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, marking another major recognition for Apple’s growing role in entertainment and original storytelling.



The award was presented during the festival’s opening ceremony in Cannes, France, where Cue accepted the honor after taking part in a keynote session with producer Jerry Bruckheimer, known for films such as Top Gun: Maverick, National Treasure, and F1.




“We’ve never strived to be the most. We strive to be the best. When we started Apple TV nearly seven years ago, we said, let’s build the place that allows the best storytellers in the world to do their best work,” Eddy Cue said while accepting the award.




Apple also highlighted Cue’s wider role across its services business, including Apple TV, Apple Music, Apple Podcasts, Apple Books, Apple News, Apple Fitness+, Apple Maps, iCloud, and other apps and platforms.



Apple TV’s Growth Takes Center Stage



The recognition comes as Apple TV continues to build its place in the entertainment industry through original films and series such as Severance, Ted Lasso, The Studio, Pluribus, and F1.



During the keynote, Cue and Bruckheimer also discussed Apple’s plans for more film projects, including another possible F1 movie and an upcoming UAP thriller with director Joseph Kosinski.



Cue said Apple wants to keep backing strong stories that connect people “across language, across culture, across everything,” while Apple described its streaming platform as one of the industry’s most awarded original entertainment services.



Apple said its original films and series have earned more than 840 award wins and over 3,600 nominations so far, showing how strongly the company has pushed into entertainment under Cue’s leadership.
