Apple is also selling the 256GB model for $509 and the 512GB model for $679, with both black and white color options available. Since Apple retired the iPhone 16e after launching the iPhone 17e, buyers can no longer purchase it new from the company.
The refurbished iPhone 16e costs less than the iPhone 17e, but it also misses some newer features. It does not support MagSafe, uses the slower C1 modem instead of the C1X, starts with 128GB storage, runs on the older A18 chip, and uses the original Ceramic Shield glass.
Apple sells refurbished iPhones unlocked, so buyers can use them with any carrier. Each device gets a new battery, outer shell, and cable, along with cleaning, testing, a one-year warranty, and optional AppleCare+ coverage.
