The Walt Disney Company and TikTok have officially joined forces in a brand new content sharing agreement. This fresh partnership allows curated short form videos created by fans on TikTok to stream directly on the Disney+ application. It gives everyday content creators a clear path to showcase work inside one of the biggest entertainment platforms today.



Fan videos will feature famous characters on both platforms



Creators who decide to opt into this new program will see video content appear on TikTok as well as a section called Verts on Disney+. The content will feature familiar characters and stories from major brands including Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and FX. To help make these clips, TikTok creators will receive access to official assets from hundreds of films and television series sitting within the massive Disney library.



The main goal here is to keep subscribers talking about favorite shows and help build stronger fan communities. Disney believes this setup will encourage viewers to spend more time exploring different story formats across its app. The company sees value in letting fans take a more active role in the entertainment watched on its streaming service.



Internal data from TikTok helps explain why this deal makes sense for both sides. Last year, fans posted an average of 6.5 million film and television related updates on TikTok every single day. A recent survey also found that almost half of the viewers who discover entertainment content on the social platform end up watching the actual movie or series on a streaming service or standard television.



By bringing these two worlds together, the streaming giant hopes to turn casual social media scrolling into dedicated viewing hours. It gives the social platform a trusted corporate partner while giving the media brand a steady flow of fresh promotional material.
