Choosing the right tool for a job is hard. People often need to migrate to yet another tool after a few months or years because their original tool choice didn't turn out so good after all. This talk gives some insight into some common issues when dealing with Personal Information Management, Information Storage, Management and Retrieval. With this understanding, many things related to tool choices gets clearer so that choosing the right tool becomes a sustainable process. We're covering cognitive models, desktop metaphor, naming things, file system limitations, working with hierarchies, multi-classification (tagging) and a proven method to choose the right tool for a job.
