Security investigations often depend on connecting activity from different systems. File activity might matter in combination with email activity, for example, but that context can be fragmented across separate security tools.

AI agents could perform more of that correlation automatically—but only if the agents can exchange relevant information. That creates a case for interoperability between security platforms and their AI agents, potentially through mechanisms such as MCP.

The benefit is richer context without requiring an analyst to manually connect every signal.
