The latest updates to Google Translate

We’re introducing two updates to the Google Translate app that make understanding conversations in different languages much simpler across 70+ languages on Android and iOS.

🎧 Hear translations through any headphones: Plug in or connect any pair of headphones to hear real-time translations. The app matches the speaker’s tone and rhythm so it sounds more natural and is easy to follow in busy settings like tours, airports, or group dinners.

📱 Listen like a phone call: If you don't have headphones handy, simply hold your phone up to your ear to hear the translation quietly without playing it out loud.

To get started, open the Google Translate app and tap “Live translate”.
