Apple Reportedly Testing Massive 7-Inch Display for 20th Anniversary iPhone

Apple is testing a new iPhone display that measures 6.96 inches, which the company could market as a 7-inch screen if the panel reaches production. The display would become the largest screen ever used on an iPhone and could appear on Apple’s 2027 flagship model.



Digital Chat Station says supply chain sources have seen Apple testing the larger panel, although the final purpose of the display remains unclear. The leaker believes Apple could use it for the next Pro Max model, but the device’s final name remains uncertain.



Apple will mark the iPhone’s 20th anniversary in 2027, and reports suggest the company is preparing a major design change for that year. Apple could introduce the phone as the iPhone 19 Pro Max, launch a separate anniversary model, or skip directly to the iPhone 20 name.



The company has also been working toward an iPhone design that looks like a single slab of glass, with thinner bezels and fewer visible interruptions around the screen. A larger 7-inch display would support that design direction while giving Apple another clear upgrade to promote.
